What makes a pastel boa?

This is may be a dumb question but... We bought a boa from Ronnie last year that is a pastel. Now I go all over the net looking for a large male to go with one of our females and everyone is claiming that their boas are pastels. They look nothing like ours and really don't look anything special. All I want is a 5-7' male really redish brown on the sides with big saddles is that to much to ask. Pastels are boas that have been selectively bread to reduce the amount of black in them. Jeff is the one who started them. Some people are just trying to use Jeff's ideas and work to sell thier boas for more than they are worth. If someone is claiming that they are selling a pastel send the pic to Jeff he'll tell you if he would call it pastel.

Thanks for the info. That's the way I understood it to but wanted to check. I have been looking for a male to go with one of our females. Really just looking for a normal male. Some of the pix on the classifieds say pastel and they look like the female we have. She really has little in the way of black. More brown and red, just gets me that a boa would normally get called such until people start looking for pastels. The female we are looking for a male for is Razha in our album.
