I don't think there are "mean" boas. I'm sure some are more likely to strike at you than others but that's more of a defensive thing than them being a jerk and biting you just because they feel like it.

I'm with ed_r, the atb's are meanest! (most fun!), but that is by nature and the way the have adapted.
Ask him about the one I picked up in Raleight
Although she has tamed down a LOT she is still nippy and neither one of our ATB's are as handleable as our other snakes.

I'm with Squeezer on this one, but I've accused a boa or two of being mean in my time...

I've yet to see one worse than my amazon, so that's my vote. Little buggers will strike at anything if not handled.

Argies become tame with time. But as babies, they're a hissy striking handful.....just didn't want them to get left out.....

Boa's in general are mean, hurtful, decietful, angry, evil , black-hearted, live bearing, blights of nature. Anyone who has disected one will tell you from experience they have a lump of black coal for a heart.
Pythons on the other hand......
:P

I still dont think any particular kind of snake is prone to being meaner than another.
They are each subject to their own defensive requirements. Some snakes feel they have to defend themselves more vigorously than others.
I have seen mean boas of all types, and I have seen tame boas of all types.
You can put two ammies next to each other, one may be tame, the other maybe a total meanie.
Same goes for just about every other type of snake.
so any type of boa (or snake for that matter) can be the meanest.
