Re: 08 MALE Hypo TH Moonglow Red Tail Boa
This was a LONG drive. Lol had fun though, me and my friend stopped at Chipotle to eat while we were there.
That's my burrito:
Once you eat a whole burrito, you understand what snakes feel after swallowing a whole rat. I just wanted to sleep.

Tell me his mustache doesn't look French; hence the name "Pierre".
I'm extremely happy with him... he's still young and keeps moving around, looking, 'tounging', and trying to get on everything. He'll be visiting the vet on Monday or Tuesday, as soon as I can get an appt.
Tell me what yall think and any tips/suggestions since this is my first boa. I have two ball pythons.

Re: 08 MALE Hypo TH Moonglow Red Tail Boa
I think that snake is gorgeous and a great first boa! And the mustache does indeed look French.
Also, I love me some Chipotles. But it's been years since I've been able to get through an entire burrito.
Just in case I haven't posted this for you yet, here is an excellent care guide for first time boa owners:

Very nice pickup. Better than the one with the unknown lump for sure.

Re: 08 MALE Hypo TH Moonglow Red Tail Boa
Haha, thanks to all of you.
I can't wait to build my custom cage.
For a snake this size... is it bad to put him a large cage? 6x2x2

Re: 08 MALE Hypo TH Moonglow Red Tail Boa
I put mine in a 6x2x2 they were about three feet long. I put three hides in each for cover. They have never had any issues that I could see. Both eat very well and seem quite happy. They are both around five feet now.
Here are their cages

Where'd you get that cage? Is it from that website that sells all those cool plastic cages, that you can split, extend, stack, etc?

Re: 08 MALE Hypo TH Moonglow Red Tail Boa
Is there a reason younger boas have a pointy nose? And adults have more of a round nose?
I've noticed this on quite a few boas. Just wondering.
Thanks for the replies!
