Re: How about some Colombian "gold"?
I think for me, only owning one 09 BP, the only thing holding me back is the size of the boas...I want a step up from the Ball Python, but I just don't know if I have the room for the next step up...Any suggestions? I went to a show last week and fell hard for a columbian boa female the guy was selling for 60...absolutely beautiful and the most affectionate snake I've ever handled

Re: How about some Colombian "gold"?
i wouldnt worry too much about size, boas arent THAT huge, with the exception of a few of the huge females. i think this ones gonna stay around 7ft. shes not growing all that fast at all, so far shes only about 5.5ft, and almost 3yo. most boas are so sweet though, and they usually dont move TOO fast, like alot of the pythons lol. if you raise one from a baby you should be able to grow with her and feel comfortable handling her. i "trust" mine that i have raised since babies alot more than i do snakes that were older already when i got them. they arent 100% predictable 100% of the time, but i feel i know them well enough to have some trust in them and i can tell what mood they are in right away lol. plus i feel they know me and what to expect when i reach in their cage or grab them, so they tolerate me doing anything in there, or doing anything to them boas are awesome pets

Re: How about some Colombian "gold"?
I'm not at all intimidated by snakes: respectful, but not intimidated. Size in terms of handling or feeling comfortable with is not really the issue, the issue is enclosure sizes more than handling. If anything, I would have the biggest snake possible if I had all the room and a more snake comfortable girlfriend haha. At 6'3" and 265, I love when a snake makes me feel small but as a poor college kid, I don't like when a snake makes my room feel TINY
