Is my boa growing properly?
Just curious if his growth is correct. I've never had a boa before so I'm not sure. I know every snake is different, but I'm concerned especially since he had an RI when I first got him I just want to make sure I'm taking proper care of him. He's half Hog Island so he has some dwarfism in him. Also, he is about 2' (give or take) long. His cage temps are correct and he is fed every 7 days. Here's a copy of his care chart. Can anyone take a look at it and see if things seem "normal" and stuff please? I would greatly appreciate it.

Start feeding him rat crawlers should work out better for you.

Re: Is my boa growing properly?
it looks fine. he's potentially a smaller boa with the hog in him. you will notice more growth once he hits weaned to small rats which if he's eating adult mice now he could handle a pup rat which is right before weaned size

Re: Is my boa growing properly?
Thanks! Is there a feeding chart/plan or something that tells you when to feed what size feeder? They have one for corn snakes called the Munson Plan but I can't seem to find one for boas. I'm not sure when to feed what size rat.

a good rule of thumb on most BCI is to feed something that is the same size as the largest part of the boa's body (diameter wise) or just a tad bigger than the largest part. There are always exceptions on sub species/locales as they may have a more sensative digestive system. I would look into rat pups as suggested and see how that goes. If rat pups are the proper size then in no time he/she will be ready for weaned rats. The growth rate appears fine with your boa and it is great that you are keeping records. Glad to hear that he/she is healthy and sounds like you did a wonderful job of taking care of your boa's RI. Continue keeping records, maintain your heat/humidity, and always feed F/T or P/K and you should have a long living very happy snake. When you start feeding rats instead of mice you might could stand to feed every 10 days or so instead of 7. Don't want to "fatten em up" too much.
