Re: Omg!!!!
There was no need for him to kill that poor boa. He could have explained how you could kill and eat if you had to. All he had to do was eat some of the cameraman's food like he usually does. Not cool, Survivor man is better n-e-wayz

Re: Omg!!!!
wow thats horrible! And I watch(ed) that show. Not anymore. That was senseless and very ignorant. "They will try to strangle you and kill you" Ummm I dont think there is one single case documented of a Boa Constrictor killing a human EVER!! Just more bad information flowing into the already misinformed public. Thanks Bear...if thats really your real name...

Ditto, actually though if you are bitten by a wild boa there could be bacteria in its mouth that could cause infection. This doesnt happen in captivity due to the clean food we feed and habitat cleanliness that we(most of us) maintain.

guess that's possible, but I wouldn't think it would be that big of a concern - the teeth aren't really that big - so a thorough washing would be sufficient imo

Bad boa breath?
That was just wrong. I can't believe he gets away with this stuff. So sad, that boa was huge.

That is just crazy. I can't say what I want to say but like everyone else I wish I hadn't clicked on that link. That was a very beautiful boa and ole dude shouldn't have taken such drastic measures. That is just not right. It is peoe like him that makes me very angry.

Re: Omg!!!!
I really don't enjoy his shows much at all .. sometimes I watch and wonder why someone stuck in a jungle would take chances .. like jumping off a ledge into water / or from one cliff to another ..If that were me I would find another route ..not chance getting hurt and making my situation worse ..
If I remember correctly there has been some stink about him killing these animals, the one in this video .. with the boa made me pretty much detest this guy ..here's my thoughts
1.) Don't kill an animal if you do not have to ..Like what ws already mentioned ..explain how to do it ..then let it go and have a sammich from the camera crews menu
2.) and this one really gets me .. if you do kill an animal ...don't take A bite and throw it's carcass away .. at least give it the respect of being fully eaten ..
Alright, off the soapbox for me .. thanks for letting me rant

Re: Omg!!!!
the problem is that this dude is a fraud... He makes it look like he's living in the wild, but after filming he goes off to his little expensive hotels... He doesn't even sleep outside... He's a fraud and an idiot and should not have a show...
also... I know that after this was filmed he apparently hurt himself on another filming thing and got pretty messed up we can only hope that he jumps off the wrong cliff o.o

Re: Omg!!!!
i don't know fellas, it seems pretty typical from all the tier one assets i've talked to, especially sas trained operatives, that snakes are on the crap list. i think because a lot of these individuals have had to operate where venomous and non venomous is not easily distinguished gives way to a general prejudice, as they can't simply stop training an asset like an sas operative to give him extensive herp training and identification. in many cultures it's perfectly fine to eat snakes, in fact one of my coworkers from laos constantly tells me i should barbecue my suriname, argentine and longicauda and laughs about it. i take it with a grain of salt, i suppose i'd find it weird if people kept pet cows and chickens and thought me cruel every time i grabbed a burger. i know it simply seems graphic, but i don't think we can condemn him because we think he's cruel when really he's showing people how to survive. i know i know, he could have just told us about it, but i think we have become too sensitive. how many of us would have the heart to gut a gorgeous boa if we had to if we'd never seen it before? i just hope that this boa's life helps someone in the future. eating snakes is not simply a survival technique, its a way of life for certain cultures, and we can't be blinded by our own prejudice so much that we begin to hate.

Re: Omg!!!!
oh i soooo miss steve irwin. he was a crazy son of a gun. but he was humane to animals. he just wanted to educate people, not kill animals for fun or shock value. shows like this cause me to miss irwin more and more.
this video and the others of bear are sickening and sad.
in one he pulls a rattler out of its den and at first it looks like he's just pulled it out to show us and then bam he takes a rock and smashes its head in.
this is so sick and cruel. all he is doing is teaching children and adults that it's ok to kill innocent animals.
he's not killing for food or in self defense. if he took a rock and smashed a puppy's head in or a cute kitten, the public would be up in arms. but a snake who gives a {Gosh Darn}..that just sucks.
