They sure do like to sleep. I peel back the paper towels and there's a pile of 12 or 13 babies snoozing away. There are always 3 or 4 independent types off on their own.

Not yet. They'll get separated into a rack this weekend, and then we take pictures.

Re: Ruby Tuesday Delivered!!!
Curious...is there a reason you leave them together for so long? Any noticeable benefits? Side effects?

It's my first litter ever, so I'm going by what I've read in books and on forums. It seems that most ,folks let them stay communal until they shed.
It is easier to keep 1 Boaphile 421D moist enough for the pre-shed babies than managing 16 individual tubs that way.

Re: Ruby Tuesday Delivered!!!
Congrats!! It's a great feeling, is it not?
We keep them all together for just a few days unless we notice preemies. If that's the case then they all go into individual boxes pretty much right away and the preemies get damp paper towels for substrate to help them absorb as much yolk as possible before drying up. We like to keep first sheds of all our babies, so they get separated at least before the shedding process if all are full term.

Re: Ruby Tuesday Delivered!!!
I'm probably separating them tomorrow afternoon. No preemies, all doing great. Although, I haven't figured out small, economical water dishes yet.

Re: Ruby Tuesday Delivered!!!
If you have a food service supply store nearby, like GFS for example, you can get a sleeve of small deli cups. That's what we use for neonates.

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and look for the clay planter trays. I think I use the 4 inch ones @ a buck each I think. Make sure to get the ones that are glazed on the inside. While I'm there, I usually grab the 6" plastic trays as well. I cut a ½ circle in the side and place them upside down in the back of the tub. Makes a great hide, easy to clean, and store when done.
Get extra water bowls if you can. that way you can switch em out quick and often. Being a porous surface on the outside, I let them soak for a while in Chlorhexadine solution for a while when cleaning.
That's the most efficient route I've found so far. Works great for the Iris shoeboxes.
