Re: YAY got my new Suriname BCC!!!! :D :D
Beautiful girl, Sachak!
Amusingly enough, I'm having the same problem finding a Suri BCC up here in Canada. Every one that I find either has an unattractive abbarent pattern, or is crossed with something... I love the natural widow-peaked Suris.. there's nothing better IMO! That girl of yours has perfect peaking, perfect tail..! She's adoreable!
And I really really like that water-dish you have for her, as well!

Re: YAY got my new Suriname BCC!!!! :D :D
Thanks all again for making me feel proud to have this little baby suri I am very happy with her, she has already found her 2 favorite spots in her little cage, she loves chilling on that little mini palm tree thinngy on the leaves, and on top of her hide lol.

Thanks man, and dont fall into the trap of buying second best!! rather wait till you find the exact one you are looking for otherwise its going to be a waste of money and time because you will never be completely happy with a cross or one that is not what you are looking for, the waiting payes off in the end.
Good luck in finding what your looking for, im sure you will come right eventually

Thanks man, yea I am over the moon with this snake she is gorgeous!!!
she eats FT which is cool, she looks and feels nice and healthy and that tail is awsome, when I got photos of her the photos were alright, but when I got her in the flesh I was very happily surprised her original photos did her no justice at all.

Re: YAY got my new Suriname BCC!!!! :D :D
Gus from RioBravo takes amazing photos.. But when i opened that bag and pulled out my male and my buddy and I were like HOLY COW(not in those exact words lol).. It's so true on how even the best pictures do no justice for Bcc IMO.. Im happy for ya man, im very glad it didn't pull through with Prehistoric pets, because you have a top notch Suri their .. I wish you lived west of the Atlantic lol, because my Ben and your new female Suri would have some truly amazing babies in the future..
I have some AMAZING pictures of my Suri's (the best ever), but i cant post them .. I need to e-mail them to someone and have them post them or something lol...

Re: YAY got my new Suriname BCC!!!! :D :D
thanks she is in the blue at the moment, I can't wait till she sheds to see how she looks in her new skin
she seems to be doing very well still, got her a little rock hide and she is loving it I also saw that the pet shop down the road is selling nice big bags of those aspen shavings or cypress malch for very cheap so I think I am going to replace her corncob with that stuff and see how she likes it. that stuff is just so messy though

Re: YAY got my new Suriname BCC!!!! :D :D
Thanks.
I am using corn cob, but I'm starting to get bored of it, I need a change so I might go for aspen shavings or something.
despite what people say, I have been using corn cob since I was 10 years old for my snakes and I have never had a problem with it, it holds moisture well, its aesthetically pleasing to look at, it smells nice and you can landscape it nicely.
it does however have its downfalls like all substrates do, it gets moldy quickly if it gets too wet.
It can also leave quite a nice amount of dust at the bottom of your cage, but the dust is easy to get rid of, I put it through a siv before I put it in my cage and I check up on it all the time for moisture build up.

Re: YAY got my new Suriname BCC!!!! :D :D
thanks man
She just had her first shed with me and it was flawless im so happy, so going to feed her soon as this rat pup has thawed out, she is looking so beautiful that tail is even more vibrant than ever now. and her skin on her body has become slightly more grey than before, so she is loosing the tan colour she sort of had. my BCI was the same, started out brown and went completely light grey.

Re: YAY got my new Suriname BCC!!!! :D :D
Sweet dude ... But she will get more tan/brown on her dorsal. Thats very common with Bcc.. Both of my Suriname Bcc's have the light buckskin/golden colored dorsal. With the grey/pink lateralls.. Now unlike most Bci's your Suri will just get more and more color as she ages..Thats one thing i LOVE about Bcc Suriname's in particular
Ps.... Try Cypress mulch, i have used it for years with Bcc and if you keep it clean one bag will last for a LONG time.. Does not get moldy, smells great, look's great, and just an all around amazing substrate for any tropical reptile thats just my opinion...
