Just how aggressive are the Suri's? I really like the look of em, my only hesitation is the temperment. Gimme the info!

As Savannah Babe said, it really varies between snakes. Generally speaking, they are a bit more temperamental than other species. The ones I have handled have done nothing more than hiss, but that may be just luck.
The real thing to consider in the purchase of a suri is that they require strict husbandry. These snakes are not recommended for beginners for this reason. If you do not get the set up correct, and keep it that way, they can be very un-forgiving.

When i first got mine he struck at me once. Now when you take him out of the cage he seems very cautious and jumpy. But once he is out he loves to be handled, not even head shy. But that all depends on the snake, they are all different.

Re: Suriname owners
All of mine are "pet tame". I have a couple who are a bit head shy and prefer not to be handled as much as my others but none are all that agressive. Bear in mind that they each have thier own personalities. You have to give each animal the respect they deserve no matter how "tame" they appear to be.

Re: Suriname owners
I strongly disagree that Suriname redtails are more "testy" than common boas. We have a large collection, and all are extremely docile. Keeper error is typically the cause of an unhappy boa, and with Suriname BCC, it doesn't take much to mess things up.

Re: Suriname owners
Why a suri??? BCI 's are just as good with less hassel. Again, I am a lazy keeper.

I've never had a hassle with B.c.c.'s captive bred B.c.c.'s are just as easy to keep as captive bred B.c.i.'s The only difference is price and I'd hardly call that a hassel.
Also all my Suri's are very "tame" they have never struck at me and only one is head shy.

Re: Suriname owners
At a horse clinic one time and the presenter was trying to give suggestions to a lady. Finaly he tuned and said "98% of the time , when something goes wrong, we look at the wrong end of the lead rope". Maybe we spend more time wondering what the animal may do, rather than what we need to do to make its life comfortable. LOL, guess i agree with some of the previous comments

Re: Suriname owners
Aside from my UTTER confusion on the revival of this thread, I have never come across a Suri that was other than totally docile. Slightly less hardy and a slower growing than your common BCIs from I hear, though.
