just wondering if there was a big differnce in temperment between common and trues. i have heard that trues can be more agreesive. is that true? what about albino boas? do they have the same temperment at bci's if they are bred bci to bci?

YUP...BCC tend to be more of a temperamental snake than BCI. IMHO I keep both, mostly BCI cuz of the temp thing the bcc has going usually.

i just recently got my first BCC, a Guyanan. he's about 1yr 3mths and is very sweet at present. as long as i continue to hold and handle him, should i expect him to remain docile and tame? i really don't see any aggressiveness in him at all, but it can't hurt to ask. I have owned both over the past 10+ years and while they both will tame down very well with age most BCC neonates are very defensive. Neonate BCC are NOT as docile as BCI and will strike if they feel threatened. As they mature they will calm down with handeling and propper husbandry but will sometimes remain somehwat edgy...it all depends on the particular snake.

You can never tell what to expect. My BCC is normally very very friendly and chill, but every now and then she flips and tags me up. Just be ready for it, dont jerk away or drop him, and dont take it too personally. lol
Its a snake not a puppy. And it really doesn't hurt at all

Old thread but I'll bite. A boa's, regardless of the ssp., disposition reflects greatly on the care it is given. Word up!
.
All boas are different. Boas that are labeled as "more docile" can be just as ornery as the boas that are considered as "feisty". And vise versa.
