Feeding Pics (If you're squeamish, proceed with caution!!) but please enjoy.
Hi Everyone,
I took some feeding pics tonight and well....ive never seen my girl do this much damage before.
I just moved her up to Small Rats 2 weeks ago, Athena is 37'' long, and she'll a year in August. She is definately growing quickly.
Tonights feeding was...gross. That pretty much sums it up in one word.
So if your stomach is uneasy...proceed with caution.
Athena all nice and filled...

messy. Every once in a while we'll have overheated rodents, and that is what we get. either that, or an over zealous constrictor. FUN TIMES!!!

Did that rat just pop during the constriction?

That's happened to us before. Our CA RTB struck and constricted, then looked uninterested, so we took the tongs and wiggled the mouse's foot.. she squeezed it so hard it's insides came out of the body just like the one above.
It was pretty gross.

That's usually caused from thawing the rodent out too fast in too hot of water.. I've had it happen a couple times before I figured out where the problem was.. and here I had been thinking my one ball python was squeezing just a bit too hard.

Re: Feeding Pics (If you're squeamish, proceed with caution!!) but please enjoy.
The rat was thawed for about half an hour or so at room temperature in hte zoo. Inside the zoo room, the temp is a steady 30C.
Anyway when i went to offer is to her, her striked it really hard and squeezed really tight.
When was constricting it, i kind of wiggle the rat using the tweezers and she kept getting tighter.
But she's a very enthusiastic eater...she strikes like she hasnt ate in months...
