Many do not adapt to captivity and die. I know I went through 3 water monitors finding this out the hard way. Find many keepers who have had a savannah monitor over 8 years? I know of very few because the diet, and seasons are hard to replicate in captivity. The majority of monitors do not last more than 2 years because of stressful environments and keepers who misread the animal's behavior. I work with all of my animals to keep them from being stressed how ever if they stop eating, or show any signs of stress I stop handling them. I also know when to not push it with a large dangerous reptile.

Re: does my boa love me
How old is your exanthematicus that is the only reptile I see in your collection that is not commonly kept for it's full life expectancy 8-12 years.

Great to hear!
Actually, my post wasn't in response to you. I was still writing my post when you posted and didn't read it until after I was finished.
