Hog breathing Weird.
Ok so i just bougt a hog island boa, she is about a year old maybe a little older. When i got her home i noticed i could hear her breathing every once in a while. Kind like the same noise i would make if i had a stuffed up nose. The noise does not come everytime she breathes just some of time. She opens her mouth some but no mucus or anything the inside looks fine. She is very active and flicks her tunge alot. And she is eating.
Should i be worried right now.
If you guys want i will post pics tomorrow she looks very differnt from most hogs i have seen.

Re: Hog breathing Weird.
what are her temps/humidity? as long as she is still active and eating, i wouldnt worry about it too much, but i would still watch it to make sure it doesnt get worse. it may be a slight RI

Re: Hog breathing Weird.
I see you also have a BCI, make sure you quarantine your new snake so that your other boa will not catch RI or anything else. Hope to see some pics. later on. Congrats on your pick up.

Re: Hog breathing Weird.
I suggest a vet. If respiratory infections are caught early, they are no big deal. If not, they can be.

Re: Hog breathing Weird.
Sounds like an RI.. might want to visit the vet, better be safe than sorry.
And you're right.. she doesn't look like any Hogg I've ever seen. | |
