Enclosure Recommendations
I don't have my snake yet, but his breeder said he'd be happy in a 40g for a good while. This leaves me in the market to save up for a permanent cage.
I've been looking around, but most of the ones that I see are long and low. Not that there's any thing wrong with that, but I would prefer something with some height so I can create a more naturalistic habitat.
I really like the cages at Beautiful Reptile and Bird Cages- Unique Build to order Custom Enclosures They are kind of pricey, but they have the added option of perches and branches and they have the look that I'm going for. Price is not an issue, but I do need to know what size would be good. My snake is a male BCI.

Re: Enclosure Recommendations
The kind of snake you are getting will tell you what kind of cage space you need, whether floor space or height.
What kind of snake are you getting?
There are many other caging options out there. I'd suggest you look long and hard at some others before getting the ones you mentioned. The cages by design cages, I believe, come with either laminate flooring (very bad choice for flooring) or acrylic (okay). The joints of the floors of those cages are not sealed and alot of stuff can get between those cracks and create mold and harmful, not to mention smelly, bacteria. That's just my opinion on those cages.
Again, tell everyone what kind of snake you are getting and they can offer some good suggestions.

Check out Boaphile cages. I have a couple myself and love them and Jeff is really a great guy to do business with.

Re: Enclosure Recommendations
Have you checked out any of the plastic cage makers like Boaphile or Animal Plastics? They have standard sizes but would also customize height for you. Those cages retain heat and humidity very well. You might also look through the caging threads for any reviews or comments on different brands.

I've checked out Boaphile plastics and they seem to be long/low, but if they can make one higher than I'm all for it. I'm going to check out Animal Plastics and see what they've got. They both are a lot cheaper.
I want my guy to have lots of branches to climb on.

You can send him an email but if you get on his website, just type in boaphile and get his number and call him. He gets tons of emails.
