if my male might be a pastel. i was browsing pics online of diff boas, and i came across this:

This boa is an older, larger, version of my male, its a splitting image of mine!! mine has all the pink on the sides and nice light very reddish markings on his back, he even has the pink on his upper jaws just like this guy's pastel. mine is almost a year old, isnt that when they usually start coloring up?? lately he has been getting more pinkish color, hes becoming extremely pretty. hes getting ready to shed i think though, so we will see what he looks like after the shed.

i searched the forum for "pastel boas" and couldnt really find anything about them. How would i know for sure if mine really is a pastel or not?

Pastel is just a way to describe a nice clean boa.

ahh, ok thanks. i was just really wondering why mine has a lot of pink now, hes changing his color. he sure doesnt have a ton of black spots either though

pastel is just not a really clean boa... if that was the case alot of my 06 babies would have been "pastel".... but pastel changes from one person to another...I really need to get new pixs up of my big pastel female!

i talked to the breeder, and she says his mother is a pastel, so that would explain his coloring

very nice, thanks!! yep, thats pretty much what mine looks like, wtih all the pinkish color but hes got really red saddles too. i showed pics of my male to the breeder and she says yep, mines a pastel for sure

thanks for the link!! mine def does look like a pastel....here are a few pics of him but they are already weeks old. i have to take some new ones!!

here is when i first got them, you can already tell that one is lighter than the other, but he wasnt nearly as red as he is now, and he didnt really have any pink back then (not too long ago) kinda funny, the male is the darker one!! LOL funny how much he has changed...
