Re: which one is right?
Corn snake would be my suggestion. There's a plethora of colors, they stay thin, they get a decent size, and they're very docile.

Re: which one is right?
I would have suggested a corn also but as you posted the question on a Boa Forum I'd say a Rosey or East African Sand. The East African is usually very good so long as you do not reach for the head while it is under its substrate.

Re: which one is right?
What about a milk snake?
if she was to get a young bci. that way they could bond at a earlier point.

Re: which one is right?
Get a rosy boa. They're more handlable than an East African (Kenyan) sand boa and are extremely docile. A subadult rosy of any locality would be a great option.
Kenyans just like to hide under the sand, and don't really like to be held very long because they always just want to dig into something. lol

Re: which one is right?
I too think that a corns tendency to move quickly and somewhat randomly may cause some nervousness.

Re: which one is right?
Any snake can be nippy and/or hard to get along with at times, if not all the time. Your ability to "read" the snake and properly care for it will influence its disposition. My corn snake doesn't like to be handled. All of my other snakes do, and I just can't imagine them ever biting someone. Generally, certain species are expected to be easy to handle, but there's no guarantee.

Re: which one is right?
oh i understand that much theres no way too make judgements on an entire breed with out regard to individual personality not to mention day to day changes in mood andtemperment but certain breeds certainly have tendencies towards different types of behaviors for instance ive heard good things about dumerils but unfortunately prices tend to run high (some as high as 750 without any unusual charactistics) they had a pair of babies at my pet store of choice for 150 each sadly i was broke lol (harps in evansville very knowledgable staff good selection not a chain and no i dont work there lol)
