okay i have a male and a female from the same litter there 11 months and still have white tipped tongues and both have a faint blue stripe going down each side of their body so i was wondering if i breed them and there kids have it too is it genetic or if it goes away as an adult and i breed them and their babies turnout like they are now is it still genetic

Re: genetics

I will give you a warning.. You will get blazed for talking about inbreeding. But grow them up and see what they look like in 3 years or so and try to find a non related mates for them that are simular....inbreeding isnt that great of an idea at all...too many things can go wrong.....kinda like thinking...do you have a sister/brother...would you marry them and have babies? I dont think so... I am not chewing on ya but I am trying to let ya know.....it will get worse than this....so please people keep it civil!

Re: genetics

No one should have said "yes" flat-out to inbreeding. It's just a bad idea. If that's the kind of information you're getting from elsewhere (that it's okay) I suggest you do not take any advice from there.

as for why it's bad, to simply put it, you're crossing genes that ought not to be crossed. Brothers and sisters mating is just not a good idea. things can go very wrong. bad genes can result.

I do not consider any boa or boa morph as a good candidate for acceptable line breeding. There are too many of them and they are easily available.
