Re: Salmon Boa

Wow, big question! lol. Salmon is the same gene as Hypo, just different originating lines, but they are compatible. Vin Russo describes the Hypo gene perfectly in his book, The Complete Boa Constrictor, Think of the traits as flowers. White flower is a normal boa, pink flower is a Hypo boa, and red flower is a Super Hypo Boa. It's in a incomplete dominance stage when just a Hypo, but when it's a Super it's in Complete Dominance form. It's hard to pick out the differences in visual form, but a trained eye can do it. The Pastel Salmons is the visual showing of the selectively bred Pastel trait and the incomplete form of the Salmon trait (aka Hypo trait). A Salmontine is a cross between an Argentine BCO and a Salmon, they are ugly IMO for many reasons that are irrelevant to your thread, lol. Hope this essay helped!

It's definitely got the Salmon/Hypo trait there, but I highly doubt it's a super. It might have some Argentine blood in there, but it also could be just a lower grade hypo with a lot of speckles.
