My snakes go whereever they want to go when I am holding them. Boaz loves to wrap around my head and try to perch himself on my glasses. Usually, my lips gotta stay tight or else a tail gets tucked in there. Will I end up getting bit, probably. WIll I end up getting sick...doubtfully. But do I take a chance everytime I get behind the wheel? Yep, and with the number of food illnesses, do I spin the wheel everytime I go out to eat? with every burger I consume.
Does that mean we should be irresponsible..no, but shouldn't we live our lives and not cower in fear of every possiblity?

Dog (and other common pet) analogies are not valid due to the fact that there are literally millions of dogs and reptiles are very few and far between comparatively.
Again, yet worded differently... no one is trying to stop you from kissing your snakes. That is your right and I am not aware of any way that you can harm your reptile by doing it.
I have simply explained why I won't do it (and provided some validation to my rationale). If you are willing to risk salmonella, that is up to you.
For those who don't know, Here are the common symptoms of salmonellosis:
Symptoms usually develop 6 to 72 hours after consuming infected food or drink. Symptoms typically last 4 to 7 days and can include:
* Diarrhea
* Stomach cramps
* Headache
* Fever
* Vomiting
* Dehydration (fluid loss), especially among infants and the elderly
(list taken from Salmonellosis fact sheet )
It just really doesn't sound like my idea of a good time.
And I know for a fact that being bitten in the face is not fun.
