Re: retained eyecaps
Be careful. And patient. A crawl through a wet towel might help. Do not rub, just let it crawl through.

Re: retained eyecaps
Well before this gets bumped off... I will just say put her in a warm bath for a little while and also mist her head a little bit... I rescued a bp with a retained eye cap and well all I had to do was soak him twice and misted him twice a day and kept humidity up in the tank and it fell off.

Re: retained eyecaps
Just raise the humidity and give it a few days. If it still doesn't work, try using a Q-tip with water or a dab of mineral oil, and try gently rubbing it off. It should come off without any troubles.

if it's just 1 layer, it should come off with the next shed. just keep the humidity up. i started using cypress mulch from walmart for my problem shedders, and it works well. just mist it once or twice daily. good luck, and nice looking snake.

Re: retained eyecaps
If the above method doesnt work. you could use the "tape method" as a last resort only. its risky and shouldnt be done by someone who has never done it. its very risky but effective. i wouldnt reccomend but just throwing out there as a last resort.

This is the advice I would have given you also. I had a b/p that I rescued about a year ago. He had really bad retained eye caps maybe even more than one on each eye. I soaked him alot in warm water and used mineral oil on a q-tip. Just be very careful if you use a q-tip. Good luck
