(nic)boa question
ok i have a nicaraguan boa and he has been in his water bowl for like 3 days now and when i take him out to change the water he goes right back when i put the bowl back i was just wandering if i should be worried or if its ok for him to soak as much as he wants

yea there is definately no mites i give my snakes a monthly mite treatment so i guess what im asking is how long can he stay in the water before it is harmfull to him cuz i heard of a blister disiease from being too wet

What are your cage temps like? It could be that he's using the water to cool off because the cage is too warm.

right now the hot side is at 91 degrees where the heat pad is and the cool side is at 83 and i noticed that he is upside down with his belly up in the water as if he is basking in the lamp light im just worry cuz he always seems to be in there the past few days
|

Umm floating upside down is not a good sign... Lower the temps a little bit. My cold side is at 75 and my hot spot is at 90 so yeah.

ok thanks for the advice i am going to go ahead and move him to the larger tank that wil be esier to keep the temps right better than the 10 gall he is in but im worried it might be too big for him he is only about 15 inche long right now i think i mught try to drill some more holes in the lid on the cool side to see if that drops the temp cuz i dont realy have room in my quaranteen room (living room lol) for the big tank so are there any suggestions on how to fix the temp problem im using an aqaruium hood as a lit with oly one bulb in on the hot side thanx
