Looks like a late bloomer Nice find on that one. As a "throw away" I am sure you got it at a cut rate price tag too

Re: Best unwanted snake ever bought.
Thanks guys. I'm so stoked now about her and my plans of consistently producing flaming red coral albinos. I probably could have talked the price down a bit, but I really wanted some of this bloodline and she was already two years old, 3'-4' long and eating fz rats.

Thank you for proving a point I've been trying to make for the past couple years. If you saw her as a baby I don't think you'd call her a pastel. (I really wish I had baby pics ) If you look at her mom you wouldn't call her a pastel either. Her dad though is pretty clean and pastelish, but definitely not from a pastel line.
Just curious, looking at the second pics only, would anyone confuse it with a Jungle boa?

Maybe because the first two saddles behind the head.
Thats not enough to be considered a jungle though.
But a pastel doesn;t have to come from parents who are pastels.
Pastels are not really a morph but a really clean boa, and most of the time high pink colors.

Re: Best unwanted snake ever bought.
She is beautiful! I'm blown away also. I bet the breeder would kick himself if he saw her now.

Re: Best unwanted snake ever bought.
But from what I understand is that the True Pastels have to come from a Pastel line (ie - Ronne and a few others I can't remember). Everyone has now tried to cash in on the success of pastels by calling their nice clean colorful boas "pastels" just to increase their profits. It seems that every boa I see now a days is Pastel this and Pastel that... The pastel moniker is subjective from both the buyer's and seller's tastes. What do you consider a pastel? Lack of black spots? Intense color? Decreased amount of black pigment? Etc.... So I could have called this girl a pastel and no one would have thought twice about it just so I could get as much money for her or her babies as possible. That fact is what I was trying to point out.
And then about the Jungle comment. If she was presented next to a non-aberrant Jungle, which would you think is the Jungle?? Again it brings up the whole subjective argument. What do you consider a jungle? My whole gripe with Jungles is that everyone seems so elitist and can't seem to admit the possibility of other occurrences of the Jungle gene arising else where.
