How do I fatten this guy up?
My Hog Island Boa is skinny. I need to fatten this guy up. He's about half size in girth of my 11 month old Columbian, if not, less. I realize that Hog Islands are dwarfs, but I know that he's skinny for his age. He IS longer than her, so I know he should be a little more girthy.
How do I fatten him up? The size of the food is perfect and I don't want to push it. Should I feed him twice a week? Once a week feeding doesn't seem to be doing much. I've only had him for less than a week, but I'm sure that Jason was feeding him once a week.
Help! I don't like having a skinny boa! It makes me feel bad.

Re: How do I fatten this guy up?
I know nothing about hogs, but imo you might be able to feed him twice a week

Re: How do I fatten this guy up?
If you want an healthy Hog, feeding him one appropriately sized meal once a week is more than enough. Once every 10 days is probably better.

Re: How do I fatten this guy up?
Hogs are also genetically smaller than Colombians. You can't compare the two as far as rates of growth. As long as it is taking regular meals (once every week or two) then you are ok....overfeeding it to try to make it keep up with a different locality won't be a healthy way to go. A couple of pix would also be helpful so that the members could see if it looks healthy or not (hint hint )

you may also have him checked for parasites.

Re: How do I fatten this guy up?
he looks dehydrated and a bit skinny... but as I mentioned before it probably would be a good idea to get him checked for parasites... and just keep feeding once a week, I'm sure he'll come back around.
