Any one know the difference between these two types?
The one I have (Got pictures, now on monday when I get the USB' cables ill post em) Is called a "Hetero Striped Red tail boa"
They said theres a difference between the hetero stripes and the Columbians. This guy also came from an albino mother, who if I want to breed has a 25 percent chance having some albino babys, but he is mostly grayish and light tan with a dark red tail.
Im going to talk to the guy at the shop (He gets his from many different breeders as hatchlings) about it, but im just curious if there any difference. Thanks for whoever has news on it.

Re: Any one know the difference between these two types?
Het means it carries the gene for that specific morph but looks normal. If in fact it cam from an albino mother then it will be 100% het albino. If you were to mate it to an albino and it is in fact 100% het albino and your not being lied to you would get aprox. 1/2 albino babies and 1/2 het albinos. If you were to mate it with another het albino you would get 25% albinos 50% het albinos and 25% with out trait. Now if it is also het for stipe then it is double het and the same applies for the stripe gene

Re: Any one know the difference between these two types?
Unless the albino mother was bred to a striped normal then you would get all normals 50% het for albino, possible stripe if the stripe trait is genetic.

Adrya the babies would be 100% het not 50%
If the albino mother was bred to a genetic stripe you would get all 100% dbl het albino and stripe
If the albino mother was just bred to a normal then all the babies would be 100% het albino.
If the mother was not albino and just genetic stripe and bred to a normal then all the babies would be 100% het stripe

unless you are going to breed it, all that means is that it will be more expensive to you.
