Boa flailing is tail around like an angry cat?
Hey guys,
Recently i've noticed my boa swinging his tail around somewhat, and its loud enough to hear it while watching tv. Do boa's do this? Because I just started noticing it lately!
THanks,
BF

Re: Boa flailing is tail around like an angry cat?
Sounds like an agitated defensive response. Is something moving near the cage? Maybe it can see movement or a reflection from the TV.
Direct answer though: I've never heard of a boa doing this. My burm did it once when it was upset with me for no apparent reason.

Did you try changing the station? (Sorry, just being a smart mouth) I have never seen a boa do this.

Re: Boa flailing is tail around like an angry cat?
I actually did turn off the TV, but his cage has been near a TV since i got him.
He seems a bit twitching atm, like hes rubbing his nose a bit, on top of swinging his tail like hes swatting flies.
I've checked the temps and for bugs....everything looks fine. His coat is clean, and theres no sores or anything. Hope hes not losing it?

Maybe going to poop? My Hog Island does this from time to time. Not really loud like that but just a few swats of the tail. Most of the time a log follows. Hope that helps

Mine does this as well, I'm going to do a fecal because I suspect internal parasites, as he only does it right after a feeding, or right before a poo.

Re: Boa flailing is tail around like an angry cat?
Hmm, could it having anything to do with him hibernating?
Last year he didn't fast for the winter, but this year around October he took his jumbo rat, then hasnt eating since then to this date. Didn't miss a meal before this day, and hasn't eaten since.
I've still been offering him food every 2 weeks but hes just not interested. Everything else is spot on. Perfect sheds, temps are good, hes drinking alot, looks and acts healthy....just a little worried all of a sudden with him swatting his tail and twitching when i walk up to the cage....or even sometimes when nothing is moving in the room.
