Re: Ashley and Adonis
Hi,
Are those the two new ones you just got? How come you did not quarantine them?
I quarantine everything for 6 months or more before putting them together. I know you want to get some nice looking babies form them but you should wait until next season. I would hate to hear that your boas are all sick. I did not quarantine the first time I tried breeding in 1994 and the new male I bought had IBD and everything I had die. My first boa I ever owned is the one on my enter page of my website she was 18 years old when my stupidity killed her. I will never forgive my self for killing her. I got her when she was 2 or 3 weeks old and she more than likely would still be alive today and be a one of the biggest pure Colombian boas around.
If these are not the new one never mind and good luck this year.
Take care
Tom

I understand your concern however, had I not planned on putting them together this season I wouldn't have purchased them (At least not now). Both of these boas have been in the collections of what I would consider trusted collectors. John Brady's collection has stayed the same for the past couple of years other than what he produced himslef. Ash's has been the same for over a year. I have several references for both as I know them both from the community (herp community) and have several transactions in common with others. While I know for many that is no substitute it is a calculated risk I decided to take.
Disclaimer: Please don't take this to say that it is "right" it is just a risk that I decided to take. I meant to put the quarintine disclaimer in the beginning but I forgot. I don't recommend this for everyone so don't take this as me saying it is always the best idea.
