Boas not eating....Gotta love winter
Just wanted to rant about some of the boas being picky for winter time.
-1 baby nic, 2 weeks no eating
-1 older nic, 1 week no eating
-Suri x hypo male, no eating(in shed)
-young 1.1 Dum pair(male in shed, female just refusing today?)
-0.3 balls, no eating, picky or shedding
Anyone else have the boas that seem to slow when the winter hits?

Re: Boas not eating....Gotta love winter
Mine has refused food for almost two months--I've offered a thawed rat, his usual, 3 times and had to throw the rat out. What a waste!

Re: Boas not eating....Gotta love winter
I thought i was alone on this topic.
My 6 month old Columbian hasn't eaten in 2.5 weeks.
I'm starting to get worried....
is this normal for them??

Re: Boas not eating....Gotta love winter
I have a juvenile male retic that has not eating in nearly 3 months. I will give him another month or so than he will have to be taken to the vet so that we can jump start his appetite.

Re: Boas not eating....Gotta love winter
Funny how these creatures are, aren't they? Some eat less, some don't. I've never experienced this. Weird weird weird.

Re: Boas not eating....Gotta love winter
Since I generally keep my herp building at around 75-78 degrees in there all the time all year round, the only change in there is the dramatic humidity increase when I bring my turtles inside for the winter and have them in their winter ponds.
The only ones who go off feed the most during the winter are my female ball pythons.
Everybody else... mostly boas... they're still pigs. lol
