Here is how I've come to understand this...A Salmon boa is a
type of Hypomelanistic(Hypo) Boa that has an especially rosy "salmon" tone to it's background, also rumored to have originated from a possibly dwarf Panamanian boa, and is thus generally grows to a smaller adult size; whereas typical
hypos may have a typical tannish background, but the high-orange, amelanistic(lacking dark pigment) saddle and tail patterns, and have likely originated from a Colombian or other locality form of
BCI. It highly subjective as to whether a
hypo is "salmon" or not, depending on if you are considering simply looks, or actual documented bloodlines.
A
Salmontine Boa is an Argentine Boa (B.c.occidentalis) crossed with a Hypomelanistic
BCI (usually an approved "salmon"), thus creating a varying degree hypomelanistic Boa with a usually increased pattern density (from the Argentine), and I've noticed more speckling (especially dark speckling on the head). Basically a "busier" patterned
Hypo-mutated boa. Personally I do not think they are attractive, but many others do. Hopefully I've been somewhat helpful to your questions...
