Most snakes don't want to be touched in shed. From when the eyes go blue until they shed you're better off leaving them alone, in general.

What our fruity friend here said!!

once the fluid fills the gap between eye caps...best to avoid because the vision gets blurred (ever tried opening your eyes under water!)
