Hercules and Yagi female
Well, I tried Hercules with both Jerzey and Jackie. Not a bit of interest. Perhaps they aren't ready or they just aren't yet in season. Against my better judgement I put him in with the new Yagi girl and ... well ... within 15 minutes he was pestering her to death. It looked stronger than his feeding response. Obviously she didn't want any part of it as she was still exploring her surroundings. And moving all over the cage. This is however a pretty good sign that she is in season and throwing off pheramones. Look here (crappy pic but you get the idea)....
And this is the pairing individually.....
I am pretty excited.
He is resting now but that was his pattern last season. He would go hard for about a day or two and then rest for a few days...then back to it again. I witnessed copulations last season but Pandora died before he had a chance to prove out. Let's hope he has better luck with women this season.
Wish me luck and please no "quarentine bashing"

Re: Hercules and Yagi female
Good looking snakes. That's definately courting, she looks pretty receptive. Your probably right about the new surroundings. I've read that if cpulation doesn't take place within a week to seperate them for a week and try again. One of my males lost interest, due to a shed, so I took her out until after his shed. When I put her back there wasn't any courting at all, never seen nothing like it. They were in a ball for 2 days, the rest of the copulations went as normal with her tail lifted and his waving. Those two would go to opposite ends for up to a week then at it again for a couple of days.
I've seen some babies you produced, I doubt I'm telling you anything new.

Re: Hercules and Yagi female
It is just cool how they have different patterns for breeding. Last year I almost pulled him after furious activity for a day and then NOTHING for a week....lol.....looked back and he was at it again. Mack on the other hand, I don't know how he has the energy he does. He usually goes 3 or 4 days straight and only rests for like 8 hours before going at it again.

Re: Hercules and Yagi female
LOL! I know what you mean, the one I described is 13 years old. I put one young male with a livid female, she was all over him, I finally gave up and put him with another and he never left her alone. Like you said different patterns but each one seems to stick with the one that works for them.
