Our new family member
We just took in this rescue, a 5 year old BCI. As you can see, this stupid pot head had him in a mesh enclosure in the laundry room next to the washing machine. *shakes head* Upon me mentioning that it would be horrible for retaining humidity, he replied they don't need humidity! They come from a freaking rain forest you idiot!$*!#$$)&!$#(% We are just glad to get him out of this idiot's house, and give him the proper care he needs.
He is not very keen on being handled, and has aggressive tendencies. I am sure with time, and proper enclosure conditions he will settle down and fit right in with our clan.
... and the collection grows!

Re: Our new family member
that kind of stuff makes me so mad. I would have hit him. seriously. there is a snake that I want to rescue, though it doesnt fully need rescuing, it just doesnt have the cush life that I would give it.

Yea, i asked a few local breeders if they could take him, but everyone pretty mcuh has their hands tied right now. So we stepped up to the plate. We weren't looking to get another Boa, but we couldn't stand to see him being kept in those conditions. At least here he will get the proper care he needs to be a happy well adjusted snake.

Trust me, it was hard to restrain myself. I started to say he didn't know what he was talking about after the humidity comment, but thought better of it, and just packed him up and got him out of there as quick as i could.

My exact words. "You do realize these snakes come from a rain forest don't you?"
His retort "There is more than enough humdity with the dryer down here."

Re: Our new family member
Congrats on the rescue. I would have saved the snake and simultaneously went to jail. We need more large animals in the U.S., to eat the burdens to society
