Argintain boa
My college (the one that got me into snakes) is trying to persuad me to buy a pair of Argintian boas that just landed. There are only 4 in the country. He is saying they will be a good investment if I can get them to breed but they are still hatchlings so that is a long way of. They are selling for R4000 ($650 plus minus) for the pair just don't have the cash right now. Wish I had they are beautyful.
Do any of you know the breed? I don't know every second pet shop has a different name for each snake. I'm just wondering if this shop is takeing a chance selling some hibret just under a nother name and trying to make a quick buck.
Saw a madagascan boa the other day boy is that a good looking snake even more $$$$ ($2000) sorry not on my budget.

Re: Argintain boa
Here's a good thread. http://redtailboa.net/forums/boas/34...ight=argentine Gus at RioBravo breeds them. Search this site for "Argentine" and you'll find lots of threads.

Re: Argintain boa
"...only 4 in the country..."? More likely only 4 on campus. There are more than 4 in the USA.

Re: Argintain boa
There are definitely more than 4 in the U.S... I have seen lots of Argentine (not argintain) boas in my day.

Re: Argintain boa
1. The poster lives in Africa.
2. Ekke: If they are both "hatchlings" that means they are likely from the same litter and should NOT be used for breeding.
3. Boas give live birth and therefore would not be referred to as hatchlings.

Re: Argintain boa
There are thousands of Argentine boas in the country.. and you can find pairs for $350. Sounds like you're being scammed.
