It's a Mystery..

I took this guy out today to handle him, and said to myself, "Boy, he looks amazing this afternoon! I've never seen him look so nice." He was in a dark phase, including lots of peach and looking very smooth. So I got my camera and took a few pics:









Now, as I returned him to his cage, I saw why he was looking so hot. In his hide, I spot something and think, "Nah.. that can't be...", but sure enough, it's a rolled up shed. WHAA? When did that happen? His eyes NEVER clouded. His body never darkened, at least never enough to make me think he was about to enter a shed cycle. I've checked on him, as I do with all my snakes, twice every day. There's NO way I missed it. And the shed was very light in color.. almost clear like the shed of an albino snake. How weird is that???? I'm stumped by it.

Thanks guys. He's really fired up in these pictures. I wish he looked this good more often. I hope he holds this look after this mystery shed, but he's usually much more silver in his lighter phases.
