Re: Peru Boa CB 2003, photo from today.
Gus do WC animals vary in coloration from selectively bred CB animals? I'm asking because I go to Peru often to visit family and i'm always traveling to different locations and it would be neat to find these boas in the wild.

Hi.. When are we leaving!?
.
I think captive lines develop into a look that's not most common in wild populations or at least is only a small slice of the available looks. Wild Peru snakes are just as colorful and vibrant after a couple of clean sheds and some big meals as most any captive-produced example. Apparently life in the wiilds of Peru is rough and boas just don't shine the way they will after the easy life.
.
I have some photos of boas in the wild in Peru sent to me by researchers there. It's exciting to see both the differences from and similarities to what we have in culture. Probably in another month or so those will be up in my website.
.
Be safe.
