Hey Jane... You tell me which one is which.

Everybody else... this is Jane's exercise... no shouting out the answer.

.
Scale counts and to a lesser extent locality of origin determine subspecies.
Things like head markings, saddle counts and other overt morphology are also involved and can give strong clues to experienced observers.
By themselves those things aren't enough for a novice to tell for certain the subspecies of a lot of Boas.
.
If the subspecies and localities of Boa really interest you, learn as much as you can about them all.
Don't just focus on the one or two you are currently most interested in.
Once you get into the subject you'll see how different they really are.
Making a sound ID will become progressively easy.
.
A good start would be Vin Russo's new book on Boa constrictor subspecies and M.O.R.P.H.S..
.
Hope that helps.

The crossbar on the head was mentioned. my guess is BCI, BCC, respectively?

So which variety tends to have the 'signature' red tail? I'm talking about the really bright red, like the one in mpgt's avatar.

Re: Is my boa a BCI or BCC and how do you tell?

That would be the BCC. They are known as "true red tails". The BCI tails tend to turn brown with age, although there are quite a few beauties who retain the reddish color.
