Cage size?
I am building a new home for my BCI this weekend and i read that boas actually like smallish cages? I was planning on doing something like 2x4x2, but now i am wondering if that may be too much for him at his present size. See here----------> http://redtailboa.net/forums/boas/34...uy-spring.html
Should I section parts off so it doesnt seem too big to him or will he be ok? All advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: Cage size?
If you provide a TON of hides, you should be okay. You want them to feel secure.

Re: Cage size?
I'm assuming that's 4 feet long, by 2 high and 2 deep? You should be ok if you have 3 or 4 hides. The 2 feet high isn't necessary, you can really do with 12 to 18 inches just fine.

Re: Cage size?
I would go at least 18 to 24 inches high so there is plenty of room for bulb heat (if you are using it) to allow for room for the bulb cages and still provide enough clearance for the snake to move around.

Re: Cage size?
Mine lays still 98% of the time, but the 2% of the time he is active, he slithers all over his cage and explores it top to bottom, corner to corner. Much like he is doing in my avatar.
