Note to self: changing cage decor position causes boa to search around for hours
When I was cleaning out Ty's cage today I decided to move some items around to try and give him a little more open space. What happened afterwards? He's been crawling around for hours now checking every corner of it out. It almost seems like he's looking for a way out (well, looking harder than normal ). Anyway, I snapped a few pics of him real quick.
Hmmmmm....what's this over here
Wait, is that a way out?!
Guard spotted!!
Wait for it.......
Wait for it..........................
NOW!!! RUN WHILE HIS BACK IS TURNED!!!!!!!

Re: Note to self: changing cage decor position causes boa to search around for hours
Maybe just checking things out. Ever come home to rearranged furniture? Took a while to get used to it huh? lol....Imaging not knowing the furniture was rearranged...that would be the snake........smells like home but it doesn't look like home.....maybe it is over there (searching the screen top...lol). I'm sure he will settle in
Nice looking boa by the way.

Re: Note to self: changing cage decor position causes boa to search around for hours
That is funny the way you captioned your photos. I have noticed the same thing with mine. If I change his newspaper substrate he will have trouble finding the entrance to his hide, even though it is in the same place.
I think they use their sense of smell to navigate more than eyes or memory.
Great looking snakey, I really like how clean his belly is. There are no spots or markings. Mine has alot of spots, all the way down to his tail, here is a picture of him.

Re: Note to self: changing cage decor position causes boa to search around for hours
I really like your habitat BTW. My BCI does the exact same thing. Every time I clean the cage and move stuff around, she has to check out every square inch of it. It was cute when she was little because she would hang over the thermometer and fake plants that were attached to the wall. Her juvenile delinquent days. Great pics--thanks.
