I have a question about growth rate / potential in an adult
bci. 'Baby' is a male, whom we took as a rescue / adoption about 13 months ago. Based on what we were told, he is now about 9 years old. When we got him,, he seemed a bit underfed - he was thin, not to the point of emaciation, but definitely wiry for an adult. He was only 5'6", pretty short for this snake at that age. I was under the impression from what I've read, though, that the growth spurt pretty much ends after 3 or 4 years, and after that they won't get a whole lot bigger, at least not quickly. He has filled in a lot over the year, and he seemed to be getting longer... Well, we measured him today at 6'4" , which surprised us since that's 10" in just a year. Is this typical? Can he keep on growing like this? He eats 1 huge rat every ~14 days; maybe one meal in five he'll take two rats. Keepers of older adults, your thoughts?
