prey items
obviously i know f/t mice, rats, rabbits, etc are good options as snake food. just out of curiosity, could you feed a boa a fish?

It most likely wouldnt eat it. If it did eat it it wouldnt hurt it as long as it took it head first. Tail first and the fins would stab into the snake. I have switched water snakes over to mice so I think it would work both ways. That is my opinion not gods word.

the only "weird" thing i have seen fed is a turkey from the store, warmed up in the oven.

i wouldnt advise feeding anything other than rodents, small pigs, rabbits and maybe the occasional chick.

Right- boas, at least, eat warmblooded prey. Fish are not warmblooded, so more than likely a boa would not see a fish as food at all. Boas recognize food by smell and by heat. Who knows - perhaps some wild boas have eaten fish in the jungle, but a captive boa wouldn't know what the heck a fish was...
