dehydration

I was wondering why a snake would become dehydrated if it had access to water. I read about people having dehydrated snakes, wasn't sure why this would be if they had water.

Most of the time its a humidity issue. If the snake is in good health, yet the humidity is low, the critter will "dry out" faster than it is used to pulling water in.

The most common sign of low humidity is poor sheds and dented eyes. Both of which are directly related to low humidity and are also related to dehydration.

I hope this answers your question.

no worries, if a snake had any type of logic at all, they would simply soak before letting themselves get to a point of having a dented eye or a bad shed.

But .. .lol, snakes.. what can ya say.

Doesn't seem dangerously low, but it'll have better sheds if you can bring it up
