sheeding and pheromones

i put introduced my 2 guyana redtails for breeding last sunday but not alot happened, the male followed the female around for a little while but then just went and lay on his own, they do occasionally seem interested in each other but not to the degree i expected, anyway she began her shed cycle a few days ago, i read somewhere that once a female sheds her pheromones are at their strongest so could this trigger a little more enthusiams from the male or am i wasting my time
thanks..........kwiky

I was going to say this earlier but I didn't want to sound stupid and figured someone would know the answer to your question.
But if this helps, I remember seeing a segment called 'the beauty of snakes' on APL and they had a segment on BRB's and were talking about how when the female sheds she secretes this oil to help her shed, and that it also lets off a scent that attracts males for breeding.

Maybe that helps?
