Another Humidity question....

Ive talked about it befor on here...ive read that to keep it between 50 and 60 percent...so that means it dosent matter what state your in? so that means if i live in Texas even if i had it at 50 or 60 it would be fine? cause i belive i once read that differnt places you need it differnt humidity is that a myth?...thanks

i might be wring in this... but humidity is a percent, So regardless of your location you'd want to keep it at the right percent... if texas is more dry or more humid then you just might have to do more/less to get it to the proper humidity. 70% in the artic and 70% in brazil are the same humidity, it would just take different methods to get there

Demona hit the nail on the head. You want to keep humidity around 50%. It may take more work to keep humidity at that level in AZ than it would here in TX but it is still the same. I actually have a hygrometer in several rooms of my house as well as in the snake cages and average humidity in the house is around 45%, this makes it a piece of cake to keep the boas cages right on target, especially since they are all in melamine cages or steralite tubs. The only snake we have in a glass aquarium is my daughters ball python. To keep the humidity in it we simply mist it twice a day with a spray bottle.

hey kinda off topic, but are RI's caused by to high of humidity or to low? ( in BCI's and BP's if that makes a diff)?

Believe its from the humidity being to low, causing the air to become dry
