Run Boa Run!
Just a question... I've seen my RTB when she strikes food, and #$%^&#$%^&#$%^&#$%^& she's fast... but how fast can they move on the ground when not striking? So far she seems pretty docile, but I'm scared if I put her down on the floor in the apartment she'll be too fast to catch? Am I being irrational and overprotective? hehe

Neither of mine move fast at all. I think they COULD, but both are way too docile.

Best bet is not to underestimate them. Don't let them out of arms reach. They are not normally fast but can make a beeline for a couch cushion pretty quickly if they so desire.

I've seen garter snakes in the wild before, and they can fly through the grass when they want to. Since mine is still young, I want to make sure that it doesn't get lost in the house or crawl into the couch if I turn my back.
She is rather partial to the egyptian cotton sheets on my bed though. hehe

Just remember that they are faster than you think, and it sucks to be holding just a tail that has disappeared into your couch, room heater(off of course) or some other really winding item. Most of my boas are slow investigators unless I forget the ceiling fan is on, then they skittle pretty fast to hide from the predator.

Likley, you are irrational!
.
But that doesn't mean that Boas can move more quickly than you may think..
