I usually leave my snake in his tank.
I don't think people would appreciate it much if you took your snake into a store.

the only place i personally take my snakes is the local herp store, where they expect it  and if i come w/o one of my snakes, they ask me whats wrong with them LOL |

I don't take my snakes any further then my property. It is a bad idea for a couple of different reasons. One being that herp lovers have a bad enough rep for a reason. There are others who take their pets out to scare people and it also in turn scares the snakes. Especially in a pet store there is the major concern for diseases and mites and anything else that we would be risking. I even go so far as to change my clothes and wash when I come home from a pet store. There was a local one with a half way decent reputation around here that a man I know got a snake with crypto. I wouldn't want my snakes exposed in any way. Even in the same store is too close for comfort. |

Maybe outside of my house to sit in the nice FL sun but a store can be 75-77 deg around here, and there's always a chance of some younger person running up and smacking it or startling it to the point of a defensive strike... don't want mom thinking her son got bit by one of those "Venomous" ball pythons.

i use to have a bread store, gas station and party store that would allow chance. i would go to those stores with her and wait till i seen no customers in the store or ones i knew to go in. i no longer take her anywhere likethat, some circumstances caused me to be scared totake her in public. but she is going to petco for christmas pictures with santa.

Outside in the yard for exercise when the weather is right. I always get a kink in my neck on the 3-1/2 drive to and from Daytona, constantly looking in the back of the jeep to make sure everyone is ok! LOL

snake walking is illegal in most places. there was an instance where a guy had his snake around his neck, startled another guy on a street corner and the guy jumped back, got hit by a car and sued. he won easily, a lot of the "anti-snakewalking laws" were passed and things got worse, as they seem to do with snakes and dumb people.
your snake is not a companion pet and never will be. don't treat it like one.
