How much can be known from a boas tail?

I have been looking at some pictures of boa constrictors and noticing some boas have short and thick tails and others have long thin tails. Do you think it is possible to tell anything from this alone, like if it is overfed or underfed?

often males have longer tails and females have shorter tails. not a sure way of knowing though
