Creating a native habitat enclosure

I am wondering about what to use for a substrate for creating a natural habitat. For those of us who have only one or two snakes, and are interested in trying to create something natural to their native surroundings, that information is virtually non-existent. I have a Uromastyx that I am creating a natural habitat for, and would like to do the same for my RTB. Any ideas or suggestions where I can find this info? Or, anyone out there who has done this?

I would probably use the bed a beast hard brick that you soak in water and it turns into this damp dirt like stuff. It holds humidity good, looks good and to me would pass for the floor of a jungle more than anything else I have seen. Just don't feed on it!

Thank you. I'll look into that. I don't feed in the tank anyway because I'm using aspen right now and don't want to risk shavings getting into Eko's mouth while he's eating.
