Brazilian Rainbow Boa
I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with the Brazilian Rainbow Boas. I have been thinking about getting one and there is a reptile show coming up in 2 weeks. Also I should say that at the last reptile show I came very close to purchasing a rainbow, but instead I ended up leaving with a redtail. I don't regret it at all I love my redtail. I just have been really wanting the BRB. Also a local pet store just got one in that is about 5 ft long. And she is gorgeous!!! but she has mites and I know that I should just let her stay there because the pet store is a really bad one whose animals are never taken care of correctly anyway and I don't want to support them. Besides that they want $350. I thought that was a little high. So if you guys could give me your experiences with them I would appreciate it. What have you paid for them, etc. I have read that they like to climb. And that they need very high humidity. Also that they can be a little more nippy than other snakes. And that they are quick. I read that they can rarely grow to 7 ft and more often are seen at 4-5 ft.

I have a pair of small BRBs. They're great! Not nippy at all. A water dish near the heater makes all the humidity they need.
Don't know why I can't post pics anymore!!!

They're over 3', but not much bigger around, than a finger. They get pretty active at night, and they do climb a lot then. I'd rather not say how much I paid for them. It was well below the going rate. I was lucky. Good deals happen if you're in the right place at the right time My kids hold them all the time. I love them.

I have a BRB, I got mine as a little baby. I dont recall what I paid for her, I do know it was not all that bad.
She is sweet as can be, but from what I understand babys can be nippy. More a show critter than a handle all time from what I read, but they are awesome. By far one of my fav critters.
All in all I have had this one for over a year now, she was born in '05.. Aug 12th to be exact
I love this picture, it really shows the rainbow
Wow, its really been a while since I took some pictures of her, lol... guess I better get busy!
The rest of her gallery can be found here http://photos.joespad.net/main.php?g2_itemId=25

pretty little girl you have there!
I guess what I was really asking as far as pricing goes was should it be closer to a BP or BCI or BCC or Burm etc. Are they a typically high end type of snake? What should I be looking for so I know if I am getting a good deal? Just basic pricing guidelines.

I got mine from http://www.exoticsbynature.com/ Perhaps you can hit up their site and see what they have and how much they are going for.
That should get you some info to work with when your at the show you know what range things are.
