How much food will I need of every size? Please look
I am ordering some rodents and rabbits next week and I need to know how much of each size
Ruby is 5' long and almost 2 years old. She has been eating XL rats every 2 weeks but I'm moving her up to rabbits now which she took last night(.50-.75 lb rabbit). This rabbit left a small buldge and this morning it was barely visable so I was think about this
10 XS(.50-.75 lbs) rabbits
10 small(1.00-1.75 lbs) rabbits and see how it goes from there
Do you think that after 10 xtra smalls she will be ready for a small?
Topaz is under 2' long and was born 4-12-06 so just a baby. He is on fuzzy rats every 5 days now.
I was thinking about ordering
25 rat pups
25 weaned rats
20 small rats
20 medium rats
10 large rats
Think that will be enough of each size to get him up there for a couple years? I seal them in my vacume packer so they can stay for a while. Let me know if you think I would need less or more of each size

rat pups seem like they would be the right size...although I'd imagine he'll move up to weaned soon, gonna outgrow rat pups long before you can feed her that many...25 fed once a week will result to over half a years worth of food which it seems to me like he would outgrow with proper care in that amount of time, especially as young as she is. I would personally go with a little less of the smaller ones since he'll be growing pretty fast through the first few years of his life...perhaps I'm wrong though we'll see what the next comment brings. *edit* although if you're buying from rodentpro they do scale the size on orders and will give you from smallest listed to largest listed sizes for rat pups so that may work out in the end if he's a true red. /shrug

do you have a pic of Topaz? if he's not far under 2' and his girth is normal for a snake of his size I would go ahead and go with the weaned personally and knock the pups out of the order...

Think I might just order from RP and just leave out the rabbits and just stick with rats for a while. Their cheaper anyway

Heres all I got in my cart for a quote. Look like too many or not enough of anything? Remember that Ruby eats XL rats with no problem so the XL and XXL will be for her mainly until Topaz gets that big
25 Rats - Weaned $0.89 $22.25
20 Rats - Small $0.99 $19.80
20 Rats - Medium $1.39 $27.80
15 Rats - Large $1.69 $25.35
15 Rats - Extra Large (XL) $1.99 $29.85
12 Rats - Double Extra Large (XXL) (Discounted price applied for hot item special) $1.50 $18.00
10 Rats - Triple Extra Large (XXXL) (Discounted price applied for hot item special) $1.75 $17.50
S&H: $78.82
Total: $239.37

Ok thanks, I'm like 10 miles out of the free shipping range!! lol I live on the border of Nebraska less than 10 miles from Iowa. They seem to have pretty high prices though. 1$ for weanling rats?
