Big Apple Herp. digital therm/hygro
I ordered this from Big Apple Herp. last week and got it today. They have two models, one has a single probe for temp, and has to be mounted in the cage for $24.99. The other (The one I got), has a probe for both the hydro & temp so it can be mounted outside the cage for $34.99. So I put the battery in and it didn't work. So I tried a different battery, no luck. Then, as I was getting ready to give up and send it back (or use it for target practice !), I noticed that there was a little plastic lip at the positive end that wasn't allowing the battery to make contact. So I bust out the Dremel, and grind it down a bit, and lo & behold, it works perfectly! And it showed me my Zoo Med Dial type hydrometer is reading 10-15% too high. Just a tip in case you've ordered one, or are planning to, or you've thrown it in your herp heap. You can see in the first picture where I ground the lip off right at the + end.

My nearest Wal-Mart is 120 miles away. It costs more in gas to get there and back than I paid for this!

I live right between Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park (some of the most beautiful country in the world), and the price I pay is being in the middle of nowhere! LOL!!
