OK, FEEDING TIME! -share suggestions, fast!
i dont know how many of you are still on from my original thread, but im seeing if my python will go for the frozen mice, trying to get her over before its too late-- any methods you guys can suggest b4 its time to eat? -ill post pics once they ate...
ok here is my strategy, if you have a better one please do share, but this one has worked in the past for me so: feed them a small live mouse that they're used to, but a small enough one to leave them hungry, then introduce the thawed mouse, hopefully they will go for it sensing the little heat and the fact there in 'huntingmood' and still hungry, plz share suggestions-
(oh and porky if ur still on i picked up some reptibark=)

um... I would just thaw it and hold it by the tail with some tongs and shake it in front of it until it goes for it... maybe cut the skull open and let some brain juice come out?

Leave the live out of the equation! Just heat up the frozen mouse, do the rat-dance with it, and if it doesn't work...leave the mouse in there with it and leave him alone. If he doesn't take it, wait til next feeding time. DO NOT TRY EVERYDAY! IT ONLY STRESSES THEM OUT! He is not gonna' starve or even lose wieght...just be patient and don't give into temptation. He will eat when he's hungry enough. Little tricks to entice him would be cutting the skull open (as previously stated) or dipping the f/t in chicken broth...it has worked for me every time! The only two things that I can stress is don't give in to feeding live and don't attempt it everyday. Other than that, it works itself out. Good luck and keep us posted.

If you want to get him used to dead prey just get a mouse and put it in a pillow cage slam it on the floor and throw it in there. It will still be twitching then but its only nerves. I don't meen to sound mean but you need to learn this really quick. Feeding live is the worst thing you can do to the snake. Didn't you see the thread labled red tail first aid?

cool, you'll like it. Its great for humidity. My boas have never had a shed problem since I started using it. Just don't feed them on it. Put the rat/mouse on a paper towel and offer the prey on that

Ok, resizing pics is easy. Take the picture into paint. Do ctrl+X and type in 50 in both of the 2 top boxes, push enter and save them. That should be small enough

Just something else about live
http://redtailboa.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15585
Look at those pics. Poor Louise put over $1,000 in to save Chance's life after she got bit by a live rodent. Just another reason not to feed live
